Schloss Ottenstein

Schloss Ottenstein is a castle in Ottenstein, Austria, set on a steep granite cliff above the Kamp River in the Waldviertel region. Originally built as a fortification in the 12th century, it later developed into a residence. The elevated setting provides views, while garden and outdoor areas complement the indoor event spaces. The castle chapel, inner courtyard and historic tournament ground offer distinct settings, alongside the Romanesque chapel, Knights' Hall and other historic rooms.

With capacity for up to 400 guests, Schloss Ottenstein hosts weddings, corporate events, private parties, concerts, exhibitions, workshops and receptions. In-house catering features food from the castle kitchen and wine from the castle cellar. Parking is available, and nearby Hotel Ottenstein provides overnight accommodation with a shuttle service to the castle. Cultural programming includes open-air cinema nights and photo exhibitions; guided tours explore the castle's history from the Middle Ages to the present, and a medieval knight's feast is also offered.
