Of all the categories here, manor houses are usually the most straightforward to actually live in.

Most manor houses on the market today come with some land, though rarely as much as the original estate once held; most of that land was sold off piecemeal over the last century. Where agricultural land is included, check whether it carries a farm tenancy — tenancies can be difficult to end and materially affect both the value of the land and what you are free to do with it.
