Schloss Trachselwald

Schloss Trachselwald is a historic castle in Trachselwald, Switzerland, set on a hill in the Emmental region along the Herzschlaufe Napf. Its history reaches back to the 12th and 13th centuries. Indoor options include the Zeremoniensaal, a former courtroom for banquets of up to 60 guests, together with the Ofenzimmer, Turmstübli and Schatzzimmer. The Buffetsaal and Empfangssaal are listed for events of up to 40 guests, while the entire first floor can accommodate up to 200.

Outside, the historic Schlosshof and Schlossgarten provide space for aperitifs and receptions; both areas are publicly accessible. The venue has garden, indoor and outdoor event areas, parking and views. It hosts weddings, corporate events, private parties and receptions. Catering is available through VCJ Catering, with external caterers also welcome. Guided tours can include the prison cell of Niklaus Leuenberger and an exhibition on the Anabaptist movement. The castle is not wheelchair accessible and is not reachable by public transport; the nearest train stations are Sumiswald-Grünen and Grünenmatt.
