Overview
Château de Saint-Maixant is a 14th-century castle in Saint-Maixant, in France’s Creuse department and the Limousin region, a few kilometres from Aubusson. Five guest rooms—Marquise, Grand Diable, Athos, Porthos and Aramis—accommodate up to 15 guests. Inside are 17th-century Aubusson tapestries, a seven-story tower with a spiral staircase, and an elevator. The 13-hectare enclosed grounds include a formal French garden, a one-hectare pond for fishing and boating, and a park with deer, peacocks, and the donkeys Bernadette and Chipie. Facilities include an indoor heated pool, jacuzzi with chromotherapy, sauna, small fitness room, cinema room and billiard room.
Two reception halls accommodate up to 100 and 30 guests. The venue hosts weddings, corporate events, private parties, receptions, conferences and retreats, with a private chapel, indoor and outdoor event spaces, parking, accommodation, Wi-Fi, garden, pool, lake, park and views. Food can be served in a 1900s-style bistrot or a Renaissance Spanish dining room. A bridal suite is available to newlyweds.
