Overview
Ross Castle is a 16th-century castle in Co. Galway, Ireland, set within 120 acres of parkland. The O'Flaherty clan built the original castle in 1539. The property later became the home of the Martin family, who added the present manor house over the castle foundations. After a period of neglect and two fires, the McLaughlin family acquired Ross Castle in the 1980s and restored it.
The venue combines indoor rooms with outdoor grounds, including gardens, an indoor heated swimming pool, a private lake and views towards the mountains, lake and parkland. Accommodation is available in the Castle rental, Park Hall, St. George cottage and Catherine's Cottage; the Castle rental includes breakfast, dinner and housekeeping. Other facilities include parking, catering, a billiards room and a tennis court. Ross Castle hosts weddings, private parties, retreats and photoshoots for up to 40 guests.
