Overview

Set beside the River Exe in the Devon countryside, Bickleigh Castle is a Norman castle in Bickleigh, near Tiverton, dating to the 11th century. Its principal spaces include the Great Hall, with a Minstrels' Gallery and log fire, and the Banqueting Hall, converted from an 18th-century barn. A 6th-century Saxon chapel stands within a walled garden, while outdoor ceremonies take place on the Gazebo lawn beside the river.

The 65-acre estate includes lawns, a moat with ducks and a knot garden, together with indoor and outdoor event spaces, parking, catering, gardens and views. Bickleigh Castle hosts weddings, receptions, corporate events, conferences and private parties for up to 120 guests. Overnight accommodation is available for up to 40 guests in 18 bedrooms and suites across three Grade II listed cottages. The venue is also used for open garden tours and other private events.
