Overview
Hensol Castle is a Grade I listed castle in Hensol, near Pontyclun, South Wales, around 11 miles from Cardiff and close to the M4. Its history reaches back at least to 1419. Turrets, gothic towers and sweeping staircases form the castle’s architectural setting, while a private lake, landscaped grounds, gardens, parkland and outdoor areas surround the building.
The venue provides indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings, receptions, corporate meetings, private parties and other events. Facilities include parking, catering and on-site accommodation in eight bedrooms, with details such as four-poster beds and roll-top baths; the bedrooms are named after former residents. Wedding arrangements can include a dedicated wedding coordinator, catering and use of the castle and grounds, with one wedding held per day. The setting is also used for dinners, afternoon tea, Christmas breaks and murder mystery evenings.
