Overview

The Castle Westenhanger is a historic castle in Hythe, Westenhanger, GB. Its history dates to 1035 and includes stated associations with King Canute, King Henry II and his mistress “The Fair Rosamund”, followed by Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. The castle was restored in the 1990s.

The Elizabeth Suite and The Discovery Room provide separate dressing areas. Ceremonies can take place on the castle lawn beneath a thatched-roof gazebo among ancient ruins, or indoors in the banqueting hall with a fire pit. The venue has a garden, park, indoor and outdoor spaces, views and parking. Refreshments can be served on the lawn or in the hidden turret bar, while the marquee provides space for the wedding meal and evening reception. Catering is available, with in-house catering and a DJ included for weddings. The Castle Westenhanger hosts weddings, private parties and receptions for up to 120 guests, with exclusive use offered for weddings.
